Two years ago, HubSpot made a clear commitment to our Black HubSpotters, customers, partners and communities, to do better, and to be better, through long-term, sustained and REAL action. I'm proud to share the progress of our Black Lives Matter Action Plan today. But also acknowledge that this is hard work that requires consistency and time. We will not let up our efforts to create equity and are ever more committed to the efforts this requires.

“In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be antiracist.” Angela Davis My heart aches for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless other victims of racial violence and police brutality. I stand in solidarity with the Black community. We collectively, as a society, have to put in the work necessary to create a world centered around equality and justice. A few places I've started and encourage everyone to do the same: 1) Sign the petitions demanding justice: https://lnkd.in/gS_UExw https://lnkd.in/gMZFJ_2 2) Support the following organizations all chipping away systemic injustice in a variety of ways: https://lnkd.in/grzHuZm https://lnkd.in/gXtiBrk https://lnkd.in/gaQPv7g https://www.nlg-npap.org/ https://lnkd.in/g_sTmKr 3) Join the peaceful protests. My cofounder Vinay Hiremath and I be at this one tomorrow (Wednesday) in SF: https://lnkd.in/g5BCW7b This is not the beginning nor the end. But I sincerely hope it is the beginning of the end of racial injustice in the United States. Take action to make it be so #BlackLivesMatter

I had an interview with a candidate today who shared in her five years in working in tech she has never had an interview with a Black hiring manager. Today at Clubhouse she interviewed with two Black women who are in positions to hire.

Over the past 12 months, HubSpot has been focused on putting in the work to drive lasting change for our Black employees, customers, partners, and communities. We've made some strides, including investing $20M in social impact funds, partnering with Howard U. to launch a Center for Digital Business, diversifying our Board of Directors, and creating a required anti-racism training that ~94% of employees have taken. But we can't lose sight of the bigger picture. Impact will come from years of this work, not one year alone. That's why I'm proud HubSpot's focused on sustaining the momentum, and being transparent about progress. Below is an article from our CPO Katie Burke about these commitments and what's coming next in 2021. Thank you to Ashley Ladd Celeste Narganes (she/her/hers) Andrew Lindsay, our BLACKhub leadership council, and everyone at HubSpot who is committed to driving change each and every day.

In 2020, HubSpot created our Black Lives Matter Action Plan in an effort to drive real, long-term change for the Black community. We decided to focus on investments and initiatives with sustained impact, and to share our progress annually. That’s why today we’re sharing a two-year update on this journey and where we are today. I’m really proud of the work we’ve done so far, including: Investing our $20M commitment to the Black Economic Development Fund in institutions working to close the economic gap Evolving our partnership with Howard University through digital marketing classes and pitch competitions Supporting Black entrepreneurs and businesses through the amazing Black@INBOUND community and Breaking the Blueprint content series Increasing HubSpot’s BIPOC employee representation in the US to 34.6%, and doubling down on retention initiatives, where we have room to improve Teaching anti-racism internally through a homegrown onboarding course which 91% of employees globally have completed Continuing to learn from our incredible, global Black Advisory Board on how to make decisions through a lens of inclusion I’m even more proud of the HubSpotters who make all of this amazing work possible, like Sienna and many more. Our BLACKhub community, diversity team, and employees from across the org shape our decisions, investments, and impact here. They are true changemakers. https://lnkd.in/dHXKtn5F #diversity #black #blacklivesmatter #changemakers
