Yesterday, I heard the following: 🚫 🤝 From a prospect looking for #ISO27001 certification: One of your competitors said the ISO 27001 audit will be "Touchless". ✅ 📦 From an auditor: Your competitors tell their customers that the audit will be a "non-event". "Touchless" Audits - As a buyer, this sounds amazing. Essentially, the automation platform provider is claiming that you can pass an audit without ever engaging with your auditor (or even talking with them). However, let's dig into the ISO 27001 requirements: 👉🏼 According to "ISO 17021-1 Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems", "The stage 2 audit shall take place at the site(s) of the client". 👉🏼 A waiver for onsite requirements is allowed due to COVID. However, according to guidance from ANAB (one of the US accreditation bodies that certifies ISO 27001 certification bodies), performing remote audits does not mean that the the certification body should perform audits in isolation of the organization being audited. ⚠️ Based on the above, it appears impossible for an ISO 27001 certification body to perform a "touchless" audit. "Non-Events" -How do you think auditor's and the rest of the profession feel when the audit they are performing is being described as a "non-event"????? ......They feel like 🤬! 👉🏼 Why are automation platforms creating a divide between auditors and the organization they are auditing?
