One thing I really value in my professional decisions is genuinely enjoying time with the people I work with. This week, our leadership team did an offsite in Maine, and I left just feeling grateful. We take our responsibility to our customers seriously but never take ourselves too seriously. Thank you, HubSpot! ❤️ and great job Chris Hogan putting together a strategy offsite that was highly impactful you nailed it!

It's not every day I can match Elsie's (the beautiful girl on the pic) excitement when arriving at the office but it's close! And then I realize that I'm blessed that I'm usually super excited about arriving at the office. A huge tribute is that people in the office inspire me and that makes me excited. I strive to share that excitement as much as I can in the office. Because that creates excitement back - which I personally praise. And in these WFH times, sharing that excitement is challenging. So, I'm trying quite a bit to find new ways instead of the watercooler chat. I find this to be one of the core traits of an inspiring colleague; creating that excitement with me. What do you see as a core trait and how do you try to achieve it? #futureofwork #distributedteams

At Bubble, I host a monthly lunchtime discussion called "Culture Sessions," which centers around various workplace culture topics and how it applies to the team at Bubble. Last week, we shared stories about what it was like for us as candidates interested in joining Bubble, and what ultimately led us to work here. It brings a smile to my face when I hear things like "everyone was kind"; "the mission was clear"; "they really want to learn more about me"; "loved meeting so many people from the team"; "they really do value my non-traditional background..." Building this team isn't just about skills - it's so. much. more. We hope everyone who interviews with us gets the same positive vibe as our team did. Today marks 9 years at HubSpot for me. I joined the company right before graduating and never left - I don't plan on it any time soon either. Here are a few reasons why: 🚀 Company growth = personal growth. I joined when we were 300 people, pre-IPO, with one product line. Today, HubSpot's at 5000 people, $800 stock price, and we have a leading front office suite. All that growth has created constant new opportunities for me personally - from doing events & PR, to working with our engineering team, to leading a global team for the first time. 💪 Leadership development. HubSpot wants to make you a strong leader and invests in our managers+ success. I told my manager, Katie Burke, my goal was to become a Director by 30, and she helped me get there constantly, along with endless resources, trainings, and workshops from our development team on everything from psych safety to inclusive hiring. 🏆 Pushing for excellence. I have high standards for myself and like to work with people who do, too. HubSpotters want to do incredible, impactful work and they don't settle. Truthfully, sometimes this can be overwhelming but I'd rather be pushing myself to keep up than be bored any day of the week. 🧘 Flexibility. I've never worried about scheduling an appointment in the middle of the day, working from home, or needing a few days off. I took this for granted in the early days and realize now how rare it is to be able to do that. 🧡 The people. It's true (I even met my partner Ryan Neu at HubSpot!)HubSpotters are good, smart people, and our leadership team truly cares about doing the right thing, even when it's hard. Lastly, I've been here 9 years because I think HubSpot's only getting better. We have great founders, an amazing new CEO, and our Product Science Fairs give me goosebumps about the future of our software and its impact for customers. So, here's to the next 9! P.S. We are hiring globally at a crazy pace! https://lnkd.in/dzsCdKbe

Today was a tough day at Cameo. We had to let go of 87 beloved members of the Cameo Fameo. I’m heartbroken to see so many friends and trusted colleagues depart this week. When people ask me what makes our company special it’s always been our people: hungry, humble, smart, kind, curious learning machines who love to win. If you’re hiring and looking for people like this please drop a note here. All the best -SG

"Recreating an in office experience online by adding a Zoom link is quickly becoming my worst nightmare." - Eimear Marrinan, always bringing the truth. Today we're wrapping up HEART Week at HubSpot, which is dedicated to celebrating and honoring the traits we admire & aspire to be: Humble, Empathetic, Adaptable, Remarkable, Transparent. HEART has been around for years at HubSpot, and it's been put to the test over the past year as our culture grows in a hybrid world. Luckily, we've realized you don't need an office (or even Zoom) for these traits to live on and capture what HubSpot's all about. This article from Eimear is a great read and reflection on how our values show up whether you work remotely, in an office, of a combination of the two. Happy HEART Week, and congrats to her amazing team for organizing it: Kathryn Ahern (she/her) Colby Splaine (she/her) Emma O'Connor Andee Chua [he/him] Ophelia Mbimbe Kate Adams Emily Scanlan!

Finishing up an incredible week in Bentonville, Arkansas with my colleagues. We've worked together for 7+ months now, but this was the first time I had met 11 of the 13 folks IRL. This trip also gave me a great appreciation for the power of the Airbnb and mmhmm combo - allowing me to work wherever I needed to, without skipping a beat. Pretty amazing. #distributedwork #madewithmmhmm

From a tiny team that could sit around one table a few years ago to 350+ amazing people today, our team has grown rapidly, but has always kept true to our essence and our culture has continued to strengthen over the years. Zach Kitschke has played a huge role in helping to sculpt the amazing culture we have at Canva today and shares some great insights in this blog. https://lnkd.in/gSewaXK #startups

What started as an idea in 2012 has now evolved into a global community of 77 million learners, 200+ universities and companies, and 2,000+ organizations. Watching Coursera become a public company today was exhilarating and I'm grateful to play a role in helping the world #LearnWithoutLimits!

Last week our team got together in person for the first time since 2019. Almost 70 Bubble team members were there, and it was just epic!

Since our earliest days we have 'set crazy big goals' and worked tirelessly to make them happen. We have 500+ people at Canva and our focus on 'crazy big goals' has remained. We set large aspirational goals and then work hard to figure out steps to eventually get there. For example our company's mission is 'to empower the world to design', in 2016 we launched in 20 languages, 2017 we launched in 100 and last year we tackled some of the trickier languages like Chinese and Arabic. While we haven't yet empowered 'the whole world' - the 'crazy big goal' has helped us to take strides in that direction and is now part of everything we do. In this blog I dive into a little more detail about how we shape our company around goals and hope you find something helpful that you can apply!

As of today, our offices in New York and Durham are open for our new "Hybrid Work" model. We've taken incredibly mindful and thorough steps to ensure our offices are following protocol and team feels secure when stepping foot into the office. We spoke to Luck Dookchitra (VP of People), Penelope Santana (Office Manager), and Calvin Sewell (IT Manager) about the steps we've taken as a team to get ready for the first day back.
