I’ve gotten emails this week from agencies we’ve turned down working with. The CEOs and Founders of the firm ask why. It’s simple: I will not work with an agency that doesn’t have a diverse team. Its a non-negotiable for me. It’s still surprising to me when I show up to a pitch and this is the case. Just a PSA for anyone who wants to work with us 👋🏾

HubSpot’s CEO Yamini Rangan expressing our commitment to diversity and inclusion in today’s earnings call: ‘I want to close out by circling back on our commitments to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. Just last month, HubSpot was named the number 2 Best Place to Work on Glassdoor, and we have similarly been recognized for our inclusive culture in multiple categories on Comparably. Having a strong team is essential to growing the company and becoming the number 1 CRM platform for scaling companies. I'm so thankful to the entire HubSpot team for making this such an amazing place to work, and I'm excited about the investments we are continuing to make to ensure that all of our employees feel included and inspired.’ 🙌🙌🙌 #diversityandinclusion #hubspotlife #bestplacetowork2022 We’re hiring- come join us!

Today, we released HubSpot's sixth annual Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging Report. This is how we share progress on our commitment to build a company that reflects the diversity of our customers. Being transparent about what’s going well and where we need to focus is critical in that journey. Let’s start with what’s going well: 47.1% of HubSpot’s global population identifies as a woman or as non-binary, getting us closer to parity that reflects the world we live in Our BIPOC representation in North America grew by 7.3% to 34.6%, with every department seeing an increase in BIPOC representation in 2021 The global self-reported data tells us that 27% of HubSpot employees are parents and 13.3% identify as LGBTQ+, showing growth in both categories from the previous year We have 4 women on our executive leadership team, and 70% of our Board identifies as a woman or person of color As a female leader of color, I know how meaningful this progress is and the intention it takes to move the needle. I also know that we can’t lose momentum. While our data shows HubSpot is moving in the right direction, it also shows us where we need to focus our energy in 2022. Specifically, we have work to do in retaining BIPOC and female employees, increasing the representation of women at our various levels of leadership, and in making age diversity and inclusion a strength for HubSpot. We are working hard and implementing new initiatives to support these areas of growth, which you can read more about in the report below. I’m optimistic that by this time next year, we’ll be sharing a report that shows the impact of these investments. This work is mission-critical to HubSpot, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made over the past year. I look forward to our continued focused on diversity, inclusion, and belonging, and building a company we’re proud of! https://lnkd.in/gJQaah_J #leader #diversityandinclusion

We have 4 women on our executive leadership team, and 70% of our Board identifies as a woman or person of color

As a female leader of color, I know how meaningful this progress is and the intention it takes to move the needle. I also know that we can’t lose momentum. While our data shows HubSpot is moving in the right direction, it also shows us where we need to focus our energy in 2022.

Diversity initiatives aren’t just nice to have; they’re key to a company’s profitability. Investors have been calling on startups to “default alive” through sound business models during the upcoming tech slump. And that involves building inclusive work environments. The companies that’ll thrive are those that can channel their diversity to distinguish their brand, culture, and products. But don’t just take it from us! Check out the startup founders, HR professionals, social media influencers, and executives who have spoken up on the issue: Christof Wittig, CEO of Hornet Meg He 🙋🏻, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Aday Mike Richardson, AsiaBerlin Ambassador Cesar Jung-Harada, Founder of MakerBay Stephanie von Behr, Co-founder of Founderland Levis Nderitu (he/him) from PATH Karen Kargar from Rising Network GmbH Roberto Ampuero Nawrath and Natale Francesco Camillo Borgese from The Adecco Group Axel Herrmann, Willow Thompson, and Sarah Kiefer from Pitch Suresh Ramdas (He,Him) 🏳️‍🌈, Rajiv Desai, Portia Burch (she/her/hers), Tyler Walden, Michiel Kolman 🏳️‍🌈, and Marina Díez Pereiro. We’re launching a new set of open-source materials to help you get started on D&I, whether you’re at a startup or working for a global brand. This collection was created by — and for — #LGBTQIA+ individuals, people who are “firsts” and “onlys,” and allies to the community.
