Building Canva has taken the hard work, passion, creativity, and dedication of an incredibly talented group of people. We now have a team of more than 1,500 people around the world helping turn our crazy big goals into reality while striving to bring magic to our community every single day. It’s been incredible to see crazy big goals that we have set being turned into reality to be used by millions of people - but there’s one in particular that really stands out, dating back to the very beginning of Canva when we had the good fortune of meeting David Hearnden and somehow convinced him to join the team as our CTO. Since that day, Dave has been dreaming about launching simultaneous collaboration in Canva (multiple people designing together in real-time). It was a goal so ambitious that he vowed to forego cutting his hair until we made it possible. Launching simultaneous collaboration in Canva was an absolutely massive feat – it involved many years of engineering effort and doing many ‘world firsts’. So when we officially unlocked this milestone, Dave had a ceremonious haircut and we created a little film of the occasion to celebrate internally but thought we'd share it here for a bit of fun!

I may be extremely biased, but these 12 superstars from our Success team are a big reason why we've grown to over 1 million users of Bubble. Tireless, sharp, empathetic, and devoted, each member truly gets excited about the work they do and the projects our users are working on. And, they have fun and love learning from each other! Cue the confetti, because today we're celebrating another milestone. Kudos to Bob, our SRE Team Lead on his second workaversary.🥳 Bob isn't only a pro at anything related to site reliability but also when it comes to reciting any episode of a UK Sitcom called Only Fools and Horses.

Today, we had our People Ops All-Hands meeting with an All-Star line up of women presenting: - Emily Scanlan set the tone at the start by talking about our Growing with Pride Challenge--it was personal, inspiring, and set the tone for the meeting and the month. - Ana Almeida Marcancola interviewed Renee Farster-Degenhardt (she/her)for maximum inspiration on all things Pride, UX, and imposter syndrome - Iman Griffin and Sienna Lytle nailed their DI&B section on identity and psych safety with empathy, global relevance, and clarity that made ALL of us want to create more impact on inclusion and belonging. -Beth Maguire talked rest, recovery, and avoiding burnout, with scientific nerdery and stories of how POPS members will celebrate our Global Week of Rest -Myisha Boyd organized an amazing lineup of awards for deserving POPS members around the world. -Samantha Simmons is on vacation and still found a way to inspire us all with an 80s inspired roll call that was simply magical. -Elissa Barrett brought us home with a final thought that was personal, empathetic, and deeply moving. Feeling very grateful to have the best team around, and to Thary Chea for being my partner in organizing this all-star lineup! PS we are hiring!

Yesterday we held our Quarterly HubSpot People Operations global meeting, in which we celebrate folx on the team doing remarkable work in several important categories. All of the awards and the recipients are incredible, but I wanted to especially call out Yesenia Reyna, Jessica Quinn, Joni Roberson Factor (she-her) & Alexa Becker for receiving the Inclusion Champion award for their commitment and focus on diversity and inclusion. Thank you for all that you do!!

A (long) while back I spent part of my summer bussing tables at my dads restaurant. I remember mopping the floor and telling him he should create an online store to sell some of their homemade sauces and condiments. We both laughed and he said "you wouldn't get the essence of the restaurant with a few clicks here and there." I might age myself here, but this was right at the start of being able to buy things online. Uber Eats had far from started, Shopify didn't exist yet...you get the picture. The ecommerce landscape is clearly different now and continues to evolve. Headless commerce is making it more and more accessible for brands to extend their experiences digitally. And yet, for me, one thing remains the same: working somewhere that I enjoy, with a mission that I connect with. This is why I work at Swell :) If you're looking for work, we're hiring across multiple functions: product, marketing, and others. Get in touch with me and I'll happily share more #headlesscommerce #jobs

"There are other ways to be the force in the room. Being a nice person doesn’t have to conflict with being a lawyer.” Lan Marinelli is our Assistant General Counsel, and someone I'm lucky to work with often. She is always quick to help, lend advice, put our employees and customers' first, and is a ton of fun to have a cocktail with. Modern Counsel featured her in a new article where she shares why she switched from medicine to law, emigrating from Vietnam to Oklahoma, and why she's proud to be a HubSpotter. Thank you for all that you do for HubSpot, Lan - because it's A LOT!

Another day, another big milestone for three of our team members. 🥳 Jessika Bohr and Milda Derenciute joined the company exactly 4 years ago, while Ernesta Tranizaitė is celebrating her 2nd workaversary. Congratulations and a big thank you to you all! 👏💚 Fun fact about the ladies: Milda has a bachelor's degree in Forensic Science and Criminal Investigation. Jessika's must-have for any trip is her iron and Ernesta bets that she can fall asleep faster than anyone you know. Somebody up for the challenge? 😴

At a recent HubSpot LeadHER event, we got to celebrate our powerhouse CEO Yamini Rangan on her ascension to the top job, and learn about the feedback and journey that got her there, as well as what having a woman of color CEO at the helm means to the women leaders at HubSpot. Let’s just say it got a little dusty 🥲. Felling grateful to be a part of this group! #hubspotlife #womenleaders And a shout out to Deneisha Franklin (she/her), Ashley Ladd, Katie Burke and Debbie King for making it such a great event!
