“For so long our community has been defined by this model minority myth, of being quiet, or docile, or submissive and we really just wanted to give a middle finger to that.” https://lnkd.in/dv85eRi3 I'm late on this read, but loved the response from Jing Gao, Sahra Nguyen, Auria Abraham, and Kim P. I've gotten to know their products and brands as a customer, and honestly had no idea about **the scale** of casual sexism and racism that Asian American women founders face every day online. Keep up the swagger, confidence, and sense of resolve. Keep fighting back!

I have something to admit. I’ve read less than 5 books in the past 5 years. Currently vacationing in Hawaii and finally had enough time on the plane ride + relaxing by the pool to brush up on my sales skills and read 2 books in the past 3 days. These books are: - The Sales Enablement Playbook - The Five Secrets of a Sales C.O.A.C.H. Next up: - Hiring, Onboarding & Ramping Salespeople One of the things I especially love about these books is that they are all based around acronyms and frameworks. All 3 of these books are written by Hilmon Sorey and Cory Bray. Also spent some time in ClozeLoop University, which is the perfect compliment to the books. What are your favorite books you use to better your sales skills or what books are on your list that you want to read? #sales #salesdevelopment #salestips

Next up on The Hotjar Reading List. 🔥 Life Isn't Binary by Alex Iantaffi and Meg-John Barker. In this compassionate and clever book, Meg-John Barker and Alex Iantaffi delve into the ways in which binary thinking affects us all. They start by deconstructing the gender binary and then delve into all aspects of life that we apply this ingrained polarised ‘either/or’ thinking to on a daily basis - and it appears in our lives a lot, from sexuality through to how we process emotions and thoughts. Some binary codes are more obvious and some are more subtle, hidden habits. Why did we love it? 🧡 We loved the thought experiments and, for a group that feels we’re already pretty reflective, we definitely had a lot of ‘aha!’ moments, reflecting on the ways we “blend, blur or break society’s binary codes,” and deconstructing all the silly things we do. We came away thinking more about the depths and expansiveness that sometimes get lost without space for nuance. Our book club meetings were never short of something to delve into.
